The Thunder B ay Multicultural Association has been providing employment support via two positions, our Employment Connector and more recently, through our Youth Employment Connector. Our mission is to continually strive to actively pursue employment opportunities within our community that support our various and diverse newcomer populations. Some of the services we provide include, but our not limited to the following:

• Creation, revision and formatting of CV’s, resumes and cover letters

• Preparation for employment interviews, including practice questions and appropriate responses

• Delivery of essential employment related workshops, including Worker Health & Safety, Canadian Employment Standards and Practices, Workplace Harassment and Discrimination

• Promotion of community networking opportunities

• Assisting with navigation on-line employment applications and forms

• Directing liaising with local employers to source job openings and employment vacancies

The Thunder Bay Multicultural Association is able to provide quality employment assistance services to newcomers with permanent immigration status in Canada. We are able to assist workers with temporary status through information and orientation and referral to other community service providers.
