A one person game, for all ages, may be played anywhere.

The game of bilboquet is played under many different names in many difference parts of the world, such as Mexico, France, and England. It is called ajaqaq by the Eskimos in Canada who play it indoors during their long dark northern winters.

A bilboquet has three simple parts: a round stick about 12cm long and one cm thick, a small 4-5 cm ball or cone with a 2 cm hole bored in the bottom, and an 8-10 inch piece of string or shoelace to join the two pieces together.
The action is simple, but it takes some practice and skill to perfect. Holding the stick in his hand, the player swings the ball above the stick and tries to get the stick in the hole of the ball as it comes down.

To make the game more difficult, the string may be made shorter, or more than one ball or cone may be caught simultaneously.
